Williams-Architects was founded in 2004, and since then we have undertaken an interesting variety of projects and provided different architectural services for a range of clients.  We have tackled everything from full building design to graphic design and project management, and our service is always tailored to your needs.

Building Conservation and Restoration

Whether restoring our built heritage, or adding to historic or listed buildings, we have the experience and expertise to help.  We have dealt with sensitive planning issues, worked with existing structures and ensured the restoration of original features.  Several of our projects have called for new elements to be added to historic buildings, allowing creativity that expresses sympathetic and striking architecture.

Conditions and Future Maintenance


The built environment doesn't look after itself; too many building can be left neglected, often with expensive long-term consequences.  Whilst we strive towards designing buildings that are robust and maintenance free, there is a vast stock of existing buildings that require regular attention to keep them and their occupants in good condition. 

Our extensive knowledge of materials and traditional construction techniques allows us to assess the current condition of a building and advise of future maintenance requirements.  We also provide budget forecasts on maintenance expenditure, to allow for accurate future cost planning to keep your property in the best possible condition and retain its highest inherent value. 

Employer's Agent

Whilst the majority of our work is commissioned with design services included, we have also undertaken the independent role of Employer's Agent/Adviser. This role allows us to provide advice to clients throughout the procurement and construction process, including:-
  • assistance in preparing Employer's Requirements - detailing the aims, aspirations and requirements of Clients in sufficient detail to obtain competitive tenders, or to negotiate effectively with contractors; 
  • administering construction contracts on behalf of the Client - providing directions for payments, assessing compliance of work to Employer's Requirements, advising on completion and defects and final statements of account.

Our experience as Architects assists us in this roles by giving us early insight into construction, programming and completion issues that may arise. 


3D Visualisation

We offer 3D visualisation services, both to support our own design work and as a standalone service.  We find that visualising our designs in three dimensions is essential for extracting the best from a scheme.  As well as a tool for developing design, our visuals have been used as marketing and promotional material.  We are more than happy to produce visuals of existing buildings and third party designs. 

We produce work in a range of styles using a variety of techniques.  We make sure that our output is tailored to the intended audience, and will work closely with you to develop an appropriate look and feel.

Project Management

On smaller scale projects, we can undertake the Project Management of your refurbishment, extension or new build project.  This is often undertaken as a supporting role for our Clients, in addition to our extensive architectural design services.  We can project manage the complete the design and construction process, from initial ideas through to completion and occupation, and we can co-ordinate all other disciplines to deliver your project to your satisfaction, on time and within budget.
